Die Serie besteht aus zwölf Fotografien. Jede einzelne ist 75 x 115 cm groß. Die Aufnahmen zeigen Jungen und Hunde, auf einer schwarz gestrichenen Wand inszeniert als kaleidoskopartiger Bilderkreis. Innerhalb der Installation fallen Zuordnungen oder Paarungen zwischen den beiden Gruppen ins Auge, heben sich aber gleichzeitig wieder zugunsten eines Netzes aus möglichen weiteren Bezügen auf. Wann immer man glaubt, eine formale oder inhaltliche Systematik auszumachen, fällt wieder eine Unregelmäßigkeit auf, ein Bruch dieser Systematik entsteht. Während die Bilder der Jungen eher grobkörnig und fast rauh wirken, sind die Hunde hart kontrastiert. Sowohl Menschen als auch Tiere scheinen jedoch mit ihrer Umgebung, mit dem Dunkel zu verschwimmen.
ABOUT // CONSOLATION OF THE OTHERS 2010
This series consists of 12 photographs, each 75 x 115 cm. large. The images of six boys and of six dogs are set out in a kaleidoscope-like circle on a black-painted wall. Within the installation, the viewer notices associations or pairings between the two groups; these, however, are quickly cancelled out by a network of other associative possibilities. Whenever one thinks one has found a way to classify the images by form or content, one notices an irregularity, a break in the classification system. The dogs provide a hard contrast to the grainy, almost rough, images of the boys. However, both humans and animals appear to blur into their dark surroundings.
